Algiers, Algeria

Algeria is the largest country in Africa and the 10th largest in the world.

Algiers, founded by the Phoenicians in the third century BC, is the country’s capital and was built on seven hills, just like Rome. The Casbah of Algiers, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of the best preserved examples of a medieval Islamic city in the world. Algiers is home to the great mosque of Algiers, which is the largest mosque in Algeria and one of the largest in Africa.
